The New York Knicks fell short by the Boston Celtics, 107-103, on October 23, 2026. This is the first time they've started 0-2 in 15 years as defending champions. Jayson Tatum scored 36 points for the Celtics, while the Knicks were defeated again. Mitchell Robinson's departure from the Knicks was reported, with no bad blood behind it. The team addressed an incident where there was a mix-up with rings in an email to employees as an unfortunate mistake.
